The Letterforms series is an investigation into the layering of our culture’s graphic languages upon ancient forms.   For instance, I use several systems of shorthand juxtaposed with my interpretation of ancient ideographs to make paintings on Mylar bonded to birch board.  The images look ancient and layered although they are overlaid upon a contemporary material, Mylar.
