Lyrical Objects

Conceptually as well as visually,  the sculptures are inspired by my interest in the evolution of pictographs and ideographs into the modern alphabet. To build these sculptural wall pieces I reconfigure found objects and bind them together with painted waxed linen thread. The work is fabricated from wooden cast-offs such a scythe handles, called snaths, parts from a shoe factory rack, cello pegs, canes, glass eyes and weaving shuttles.  The sculptures project a hands width from the wall cast shadows on the wall above and below.
